Starting this month, the city will begin construction on The Field Parks in our Pearl District. The 3.2 acre park will feature a dog pin, grassy lawn areas, picnic tables, walking paths, and a Portland Loo (restroom). The park will cost $5.5 million and expects to be open in Winter 2013. The funding is coming from the Portland Development Commission as well Portland Parks & Recreation. The Fields is apart of the urban renewal plan for the area, and it the third park to be completed; following Jamison Square and Tanner Springs Park.

Construction kick-off will be at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 6. The public is welcome to join.
