With construction of the Janey Apartments (12th & Everett Mid-Rise) wrapping up, we noticed a pre-application online with similarities. Designed byGBD Architects, the proposal describes an eight story mid-rise with 80 apartments. The building will provide 34 parking spaces, 50 biking parking spots, and ground level retail space.
Resembling the Janey is easily noticed in the design renderings. Also interesting is the location, which is directly next door. The location of this project would replace an existing one-story building that has been abandoned for years. Upon completion it would improve the intersection of NW Everett and 11th Avenue substantially — the current building is often overran with broken glass and trash — by bringing new life to the corner through retail and housing density.
