Developer Robert Ball plans to build a 177-unit luxury apartment building, in our Pearl District. Mr. Ball – a former mayoral candidate – is responsible for the development of The Wyatt, in 2008. After The Wyatt, his developments stopped. He now thinks it’s a good opportunity to enter the rental market. According to a Metro Multifamily Housing Association’s survey, Northwest Portland – including the Pearl District – has one of the lowest vacancy rates in the area, at 2.4 percent.

The building will be six stories and have 177 luxury rental apartments. Features like a large community space, bike and vehicle parking, storage closets, and LEED Platinum standards are expected. It will occupy the entire block of Northwest 12th Avenue between Northwest Pettygrove and Northwest Quimby streets.
