BankSimple, coming sometime in 2011, announced yesterday they have received an additional 10 million in financing. The investment came from IA Ventures, a firm that exclusively invests in early-stage companies. BankSimple will be an online banking service that focuses on no surprise fees and the best customer service. They have seven employees in the Portland Pearl District office and eight in New York. The co-founder is Alex Payne, a former Twitter executive.
The startup is currently hiring engineers to the Portland location. BankSimple also announced plans with Visa and some other partners.
